THE ROLE

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will own the SEO function — setting the strategy, leading the team, and still producing content yourself. You will report directly to senior leadership and be accountable for organic traffic growth as a core business metric. We are not looking for someone who has read about SEO. We want someone who has grown a fintech's organic traffic and can show us the numbers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Strategy &amp; Leadership

Own the end-to-end SEO strategy for 1% Club — keyword universe, content architecture, topical authority roadmap, and link-building approach
</li>

Set quarterly organic traffic and ranking targets; build the plan to achieve them
</li>
<li>
Manage and mentor the SEO Writer and SEO Intern — review their work, unblock them, and raise their output quality
</li>
<li>
Conduct full-site technical SEO audits and work with the product/tech team to implement fixes — crawlability, site speed, Core Web Vitals, schema
</li>
<li>
Build and manage a content calendar that is data-driven, commercially aligned, and seasonally aware
</li>
<li>
Develop the internal linking architecture across the full content library
</li>
<li>
Oversee and contribute to a strategic link-building programme
</li>

Content Production

Personally produce high-authority, long-form content on complex finance topics — this is a player-coach role

Set and enforce editorial standards: accuracy, SEO best practices, compliance, and voice

Review and sign off on all team output before publication

Analytics &amp; Reporting

Own the SEO performance dashboard — weekly reporting to leadership on traffic, rankings, CTR, and conversion contribution

Use Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to diagnose performance drops, identify opportunities, and track competitor movements

Run regular content audits — identify pages to refresh, consolidate, or retire
</li>
<li>
Stay current on Google algorithm updates and assess their impact proactively
</li>

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Non-negotiable

Minimum 5 years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years at a fintech company — neobank, wealth platform, insurance aggregator, lending platform, or similar
</li>
<li>
A portfolio of measurable organic growth: traffic numbers, keyword rankings, domain authority improvement — bring the data to the interview
</li>
<li>
Expert-level proficiency in Ahrefs and SEMrush — keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink audits, content gap analysis
</li>
<li>
Hands-on technical SEO capability: you can read a crawl report, interpret Core Web Vitals, and communicate fixes to engineers
</li>
<li>
Deep familiarity with Google Search Console — not just impressions and clicks, but index coverage, manual actions, and search appearance
</li>
<li>
Strong writing ability — you must be able to produce content yourself, not only direct others
</li>
<li>
Working knowledge of personal finance: you understand the products we cover and can write about them accurately
</li>
