Kuku FM

About the Role
Kuku is India's one of the largest content platforms. This role owns the Engagement charter at Kuku — the cross-functional function responsible for how often people come back, how deep they go, and how the product turns a first listen into a daily habit. You'll run the POD's roadmap end to end: dig into user behaviour, decide what to build next, and ship features that move engagement and retention. It's a role for someone who is equally comfortable in a cohort chart and in a prototype, and who can turn a hunch into something clickable before writing a single line of spec.
What you'll work onOwn the Engagement POD
<ul>
<li>
Own the engagement roadmap end to end — set the direction for the POD, decide what gets built, and drive it from idea to launch to iteration.
</li>
<li>
Run the POD's day-to-day: define and prioritise the backlog, keep engineering and design unblocked, and make the calls that keep the squad moving.
</li>
<li>
Own engagement and retention metrics for the POD, and be accountable for the number, not just the shipping.
</li>
</ul>
User Analysis &amp; Insight
<ul>
<li>
Do the user analysis yourself — cohort, funnel, and retention analysis to understand where people drop off and why they come back.
</li>
<li>
Combine quantitative data with qualitative research (user interviews, session reviews, feedback) to build a real picture of listener behaviour.
</li>
<li>
Turn insight into a clear, prioritised view of what to build next.
</li>
</ul>
Feature Planning &amp; Prototyping
<ul>
<li>
Plan new features from problem to spec — define the opportunity, size it, write crisp requirements, and align the POD around them.
</li>
<li>
Vibe code your ideas. Use AI-assisted coding and prototyping tools to build quick, working prototypes and clickable demos, so ideas get validated with real interaction before they hit the roadmap.
</li>
<li>
Design and run experiments (A/B tests) to validate whether a feature actually moves the needle.
</li>
</ul>
Cross-Functional Collaboration
<ul>
<li>
Work closely with engineering, design, data, and content to ship features that land.
</li>
<li>
Communicate what you're building and why, and keep stakeholders aligned on outcomes over output.
</li>
</ul>
What we're looking for
<ul>
<li>
3–6 years in product management, ideally on consumer products at real scale.
</li>
<li>
Genuinely data-driven — comfortable with product analytics, cohort and funnel analysis, and pulling your own numbers (SQL or tools like Amplitude / Mixpanel).
</li>
<li>
Strong user-research instinct — you talk to users and let evidence, not opinion, drive the roadmap.
</li>
<li>
Vibe coding ability — you can use AI coding tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor, v0, or similar) to build prototypes and validate ideas hands-on, without waiting on engineering.
</li>
<li>
A track record of planning and shipping features that measurably improved engagement or retention.
</li>
<li>
Clear thinking and clear communication — you can turn ambiguity into a plan the POD can execute.
</li>
</ul>
Good to have
<ul>
<li>
Experience specifically on engagement, retention, growth, or habit-formation problems.
</li>
<li>
Experience with subscription, content, audio, or OTT products.
</li>
<li>
Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing at scale.
</li>
<li>
Comfort working across the funnel — onboarding, activation, and re-engagement.
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Tools &amp; Technologies
<ul>
<li>
Analytics:&nbsp; SQL, ClickHouse
</li>
<li>
Prototyping / Vibe coding: Claude, Cursor, v0, Figma
</li>
<li>
Experimentation: A/B testing and feature-flag tooling
</li>
</ul>
Education
<ul>
<li>
Bachelor's or Master's in any discipline — or equivalent practical experience. What matters is judgement, curiosity, and a bias for shipping.
</li>
</ul>
What we offer
<ul>
<li>
Full ownership of a POD that directly moves the numbers that matter.
</li>
<li>
Competitive comp + ESOPs.
</li>
<li>
Learning budget and certification support.
</li>
<li>
A team that cares about outcomes, not just output.
</li>
</ul>
