About the Role
Kuku FM is looking for an AI Video Editor (2–5 years) who can turn scripts, performances, live-action footage, and AI-generated visuals into high-retention, binge-worthy micro-dramas.&nbsp;This role is ideal for an editor who understands that great short-form storytelling is not just about cutting footage—it’s about hooking viewers, building emotion, escalating conflict, and ending every episode with a reason to watch the next one.
You’ll work across live-action + AI-generated content in a fast-paced, high-volume episodic production environment.

What You'll Do
🎬 Storytelling &amp; Editing
<ul>
<li>Edit live-action and AI-generated micro-dramas for mobile-first audiences.</li>
<li>Create powerful opening hooks, emotional peaks, reveals, twists, payoffs, and cliffhangers.</li>
<li>Shape dialogue, performances, music, SFX, voiceovers, and visuals into compelling narratives.</li>
<li>Select the strongest takes to maximise emotion, conflict, suspense, and character relationships.</li>
<li>Maintain strong pacing, visual rhythm, dialogue clarity, narrative progression, and audience retention.</li>
<li>Apply principles of information control, escalating conflict, pattern interruption, and retention-driven editing.</li>
</ul>
📱 Mobile-First Storytelling
<ul>
<li>Edit specifically for vertical 9:16 formats and mobile viewing.</li>
<li>Maintain strong composition, visual hierarchy, readable performances, and screen impact.</li>
<li>Understand how to optimise storytelling for short attention spans and binge consumption.</li>
</ul>
🤖 AI Video &amp; VFX
<ul>
<li>Work confidently with AI-generated characters, environments, performances, and shots.</li>
<li>Identify and fix AI-video issues such as facial inconsistencies, lip-sync errors, flickering, warping, unnatural movement, frame instability, and continuity issues.</li>
<li>Handle AI-assisted post-production including lip-sync correction, cleanup, upscaling, frame interpolation, shot extension, masking, tracking, compositing, and background replacement.</li>
<li>Know when an AI shot can be fixed in post-production and when it needs to be regenerated.</li>
</ul>
🎨 Visual &amp; Sound Finishing
<ul>
<li>Seamlessly integrate live-action and AI footage through colour correction, grading, reframing, compositing, motion treatment, and visual matching.</li>
<li>Create titles, captions, transitions, motion graphics, VFX, recaps, end cards, and promotional elements when required.</li>
<li>Handle dialogue editing, music, ambience, Foley, and SFX to strengthen emotional and dramatic impact.</li>
<li>Ensure clear audio balance across mobile devices and viewing environments.</li>
</ul>
🔄 Production &amp; Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Maintain story, character, costume, location, lighting, eyeline, spatial, and performance continuity.</li>
<li>Manage multiple episodes, revisions, and priorities in a fast-moving production pipeline.</li>
<li>Collaborate with directors, writers, creative producers, AI artists, and sound designers.</li>
<li>Implement feedback accurately and meet tight delivery timelines.</li>
<li>Maintain organised project files, proxies, media libraries, naming conventions, version histories, templates, and archival masters.</li>
<li>Perform creative and technical QC and deliver final episodes to required platform, codec, resolution, frame-rate, aspect-ratio, and audio specifications.</li>
</ul>
What we’re looking for
Must Have
<ul>
<li>2–5 years of professional video-editing experience, preferably in fiction, micro-dramas, web series, films, TV, advertising, digital entertainment, or narrative short-form content.</li>
<li>Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling, dramatic pacing, emotional editing, and technical polish.</li>
<li>Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro skills.</li>
<li>Advanced Adobe after Effects skills, including compositing, masking, and tracking, cleanup, and motion graphics.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of Gen AI tool - Runaway, ElevanLabs, Kling, Veo, Adobe Firefly, Topaz or equivalent</li>
<li>Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve for colour correction, grading, finishing, and media management.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of narrative structure, screen direction, continuity, performance selection, montage, shot progression, and visual rhythm.</li>
<li>Experience editing dialogue-driven scenes, romance, emotional sequences, action, confrontations, reveals, and cliffhangers.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of audience retention and mobile-first 9:16 storytelling.</li>
<li>Experience working with both live-action and AI-generated footage.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of sound editing, dialogue balancing, music placement, ambience, Foley, and SFX.</li>
<li>Ability to colour-match footage from different cameras, tools, and production pipelines.</li>
<li>Strong eye for character, facial, costume, prop, lighting, eyeline, spatial, and background continuity.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple episodes, revisions, and deadlines in a high-volume production environment.</li>
</ul>
AI Experience
Experience with generative AI video/image, lip-sync, cleanup, enhancement, upscaling, interpolation, shot extension, and compositing workflows is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Fluent Hindi and working proficiency in English.</li>
<li>Experience with micro-dramas, vertical dramas, episodic fiction, web series, or retention-driven entertainment.</li>
<li>Experience in fast-turnaround, high-volume episodic production.</li>
<li>Familiarity with subtitles, dubbing, localisation, and multilingual versioning.</li>
<li>Knowledge of proxy workflows, shared storage, media relinking, project templates, automated syncing, and structured post-production handoffs.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of OTT and digital-platform delivery standards.</li>
<li>Film editing, filmmaking, media production, animation, or related degree/diploma is a plus, but not mandatory.</li>
