We are building a set of tools, approaches and engineering processes that combine to form a capability to undertake the technical management of wind farm development at a significantly improved level of sophistication over existing standard industry approaches.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div>To achieve its aim, Wind Pioneers is constantly striving to build new tools that are one of its kind and a game changer in the industry. We are seeking a passionate <span style="color: rgb(32, 31, 30);">Backend Developer</span> to join our team, someone who can uphold the robustness of our tools while actively participating in their maintenance and improvement.</div><div><br></div><div><strong style="color: rgb(32, 31, 30);">Detailed Responsibilities:</strong></div><div><br></div><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Collaborate closely with our Product Owner and Frontend Developer, to provide the server-side logic (new APIs and endpoints) supporting new features and bug fixes.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Utilize logging and debugging tools proficiently to identify and rectify errors.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Maintain OWASP best practices for application security.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Implement and maintain data validation and migration techniques to support new features and evolving requirements.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Monitor and evaluate the performance of backend systems.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Work closely with and learn from our Product Architect and Senior Engineer – ultimately (in 2-3 years) growing toward owning the backend area.</li></ul><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div><strong style="color: rgb(32, 31, 30);">&nbsp;Candidate Requirements:</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;">We're seeking someone with a strong foundation in backend development, a passion for open-source (you will have the opportunity to contribute publicly to upstream open-source projects), and a laser like focus on data integrity and structure.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;">You are a person with:</div><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or related field.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">1-3 years of relevant work experience.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Proficiency in the Python programming language. In particular, experience with the Django server framework is highly desirable.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Experience using at least one of the following technologies: GraphQL, Event-Based architectures and/or real-time systems (GRPC/Websockets/Server Sent Events).</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Desire to progress toward a full-stack role (hence some familiarity with frontend frameworks like next.js is desirable).</li><li style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Knowledge of relational database systems (especially PostgreSQL).</li><li style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Keen attention to detail.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Proactive attitude with a strong ability to work independently.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Desire to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth, international startup environment.</li></ul><div style="text-align: justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Please showcase your experience through the projects you've worked on and the problems you've solved.
